Rules and Regulations for archival
It was brought up on Discord that some plugins with "sensitive" content, might not be appropriate to have in the archive. Mods with sexual content, degrading plugins, plugins designed to attack a specific person, race identity, etc.
I am of the stance that this archive is purely for archival purposes, and thus should not have regulations on what is and is not archived. I believe all plugins should be accepted and don't think it is appropriate to make decisions on what is and is not allowed to be archived as I think that leads into all sorts of questions and issues about what should be accepted, what should not be accepted and who should be in a position to make that decision.
However, if we feel differently, and we decide not to allow everything, I think it would be best to set out the specific rules on what is and isn't allowed early and make sure that it is very visible and well defined for what is not allowed so it is not an arbitrary decision.
If plugins of this type are allowed, they will be moved into their own folder so as to keep them separate from the rest.
I think anything that is specifically focused in the text on "adult content" (whether that's descriptive sexual scenes or graphic/explicit violence) should be archived under a separate header, but I absolutely think nothing else on the list of "degrading plugins, plugins designed to attack a specific person, race identity, etc." should be allowed in the main directory whatsoever.
The distinction between expression of self and harm to others is one that is too often erased, imo.
For -purely- completionist archival purposes, I would understand hanging on to them in a separate place. Not even a sub folder, but a completely isolated, wholly distinct "controversial archive," but I also think anything inside such should not be maintained/corrected in any capacity, essentially having it be an archive explicitly for examples of what will be tolerated. A "Hall of Shame" type thing.
Though, simple -mention- of such topics (including political leanings and things), shouldn't even need to be separated at all.
Probably still best to error on the side of caution when the line is straddled, but there's a vast difference between, for example, referring to an off camera sexual experience and writing a romance novel style scene.
