I found the apk in a backup, if anyone is looking for it: com.nightshadelabs.anotherbrowser.apk.zip

Also version 1.2 on apk mirror won't install on OS 8 / Oreo. But the link posted above does.

I saw someone has created an updated version and wants to release it on f-droid.org It is not yet released but I guess it won't take too long: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/rfp/issues/922

Thanks! Please post here when it is released.

Another great thing about flashify is that it can launch urls in the correct mobile app especially if the original app isn't catching them.

The app was released on f-droid.org as ~~Netscope~~ Neolinker: https://f-droid.org/app/com.oF2pks.netscope New url: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.oF2pks.neolinker/

Netscope v2.2-5 now replaces and improves on the Browser Intercept + Flashify combo, since i usually just want to know where i'm going before i'm sent there by surprise, and Netscope now does it better.

previously using BI+F apps would be:

  1. tap "just once" for Browser Intercept in browse list.
  2. see the url above send list.
  3. tap Flashify to return to browse list.
  4. select specific browser (and next time have to tap Browser Intercept before "just once").

now replace BI+F with Netscope and it becomes:

  1. tap "just once" for Netscope in browse list.
  2. see the url above browse list.
  3. select specific browser (and next time only need to tap "just once" for Netscope).
  • or tap Netscope again to switch to send list.
  • and a few more times to cycle through additional search and virus check of url options.

available in F-Droid and not currently in play store. https://f-droid.org/packages/com.oF2pks.netscope

@cvzi since you're the OP, maybe update the title to something like "replacement found since no longer in play store and f-droid recommends uninstall" and link in OP to https://f-droid.org/packages/com.oF2pks.netscope

@jmichael2497

Please post a working apk for netscope. It's not working on Android 11. It doesn't even install.

the f-droid netscope urls in this ticket give 404. does anyone know what happened to it?

flashify 1.2 still works fine for me on android 12 btw, but I can't actually find it anywhere, I just migrate it to all my new phones manually with eg titanium backup

It was removed because of a trademark infringement of the logo, here is the f-droid issue about it: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/issues/1938

It now has a new name and logo: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.oF2pks.neolinker/
