Do you really want it to ignore the path, or simply convert forward slashes to backslashes?

I can confirm this issue (as of the last time I tried this extension, which was a few months ago).

Thanks for you explanation Peter. One possible solution would be to merge this helpful plugin with the CustomizeToolbar plugin. That way there wouldn't be two toolbars fighting for available space....

Just FYI, I use the 32-bit version of XMLTools successfully with Notepad++ v8.1.9.3 32-bit. Do you have a specific need for the 64-bit version of Notepad++?
