Yeah, lossless format, like png. Full HD resolution, 1920:1080 ratio 🐻 You can even use AI for the task.
@emna9 You can drop the PNG here and when I give the go on it, then you can make a PR for testing/crediting purposes, where you can add the asset added within game /AncientBeast/assets/locations/NAME/bg.jpg; and as we talked recently, we could drop the pre-match settings as well (to simplify things and save screen estate), so it will take a few tries to "land" this one for properly testing it in-game...
Thanks @DreadKnight I’ve tried to design the location background to match the overall atmosphere and art style of AncientBeast as closely as possible. I paid attention to the color palette, lighting, and texture to ensure it blends well with the game's existing environments and doesn't feel out of place. Looking forward to your feedback so I can refine it further if needed before proceeding with the PR!
@emna9 They're interesting, but need way more work; some bad things:
- too dark overall (units will seem glowing)
- bad ratios (1/3 for top bg, 2/3 for the floor)
- floor has perspective instead of being isometric
- floor tiles conflict with hexagons big time, avoid!
- background elements seem kinda like in motion
