Feature description
Hi,
on my Android phone with dark theme enabled png pictures with background transparency are hard to see. An optional option for png's with a choice of white or black background would be great.
Why do you want this feature?
Better viewing of png's with full background transparency..
Additional information
AOSP Android 14 Gallery v1.1.3
We can already make the background black or white the better option would be the gray checkerboard "transparency" pattern. The problem with black or white is if you have both solid black images on a transparent background and solid white images on a transparent background then nether black or white is viable as a background color.
I came here to make a feature request for better handling of PNG transparency and found this issue, but I was going to ask for some thing universal that works for both light and dark images, "the PNG transparency checkerboard", we already have an "ether or" so an option for setting png's background to white or black doesn't fix anything where as a transparency checkerboard will make everything easier to see without having change settings for light or dark images.
svg, avif, webp, jxl also suffers same issue
it also affects previews
