BUG: font appears to rerender itself when typing

Problem Description

When I open the text box and type the font simply keeps re-rendering itself and I find it extremely annoying.

to solve, I tried:

• disabling fullscreen optimizations
• changing high DPI settings
• changing Cleartype settings

To Reproduce

1. Open the app and type in the text box
