Why is this valuable (or not)?

The previous URL was broken (it did lead to oreilly but resulted in a 404 page).
I have found an alternate hosting of the PDF and updated the link in the commit.

How do we know it's really free?

For book lists, is it a book? For course lists, is it a course? etc.
