Sound good to me, but I don't know how to do that in practice. I know _Titanium Backup_ and _App Quarantine_ can do this, but not how it's actually done.

This is great, but unfortunately this seem to be just the [top of the iceberg](http://developer.android.com/google/gcm/index.html). A recent review of my Samsung device [Android permissions](http://census.tsyrklevich.net/devices/247/permissions), was really jaw dropping as well....

Sound great, but this is just eye-candy (well at least, ear-candy.) Let's stay focused on the core functionality.
If the audio alert is trivial to implement, then let's do it.
It depends on what the developer intended that function to be. I think that better describe a detection event, which is later added up to determine what alarm to present....
