GIF images animation is no longer working in 1.0.6

In older version, when i compress gif images it works fine, but with 1.0.6 when i compress GIF IMAGES, their animation stops and it becomes a static image. any ideas how to fix this?

This is really important and needs to be resolved

This would be a huge help for us. For now we are detecting gifs and not compressing those which defeats the purpose.

Im on 2.0.0 and still not implemented. When the gif is uploaded it assume as a default png image
