Resilience4j Support

Open luksrn opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Has the possibility of instrumenting resilience component metrics with the Resilience4j library been discussed? It would be very helpful if something ready-made were provided. For example, metrics could be exported to indicate the health of components such as a CircuitBreaker. Otherwise, would it be necessary to use custom metrics?

dd-trace-java currently supports Hystrix, but it has been 6 years since active development stopped on it and Netflix has recommended switching to resilience4j:

Hystrix is no longer in active development, and is currently in maintenance mode.

... For the cases where something like Hystrix makes sense, we intend to continue using Hystrix for existing applications, and to leverage open and active projects like resilience4j for new internal projects. We are beginning to recommend others do the same.

Hello everyone! The Resilience4j integration is now available in integration-extras. [#2581] We’d love for you to give it a try! Could you install it and help validate the metrics?
