Trouble using Wavlink UMD05 Pro Rev. C1
Component
Dasharo firmware
Device
NovaCustom V56 14th Gen
Dasharo version
v0.9.0-rc2
Dasharo Tools Suite version
No response
Brief summary
There's trouble using an early revision of the station, namely with video output and USB-C power supply detection
How reproducible
The charging problem is a 100%, the video is seemingly random, occurs after a couple of re-plugs or instantly
How to reproduce
Try to plug in the rev. C1 station and see if the platform detects being charged, or gives video output via the station
Expected behavior
It should be getting charged and always giving video output (as long as the monitor is connected, ofc)
Actual behavior
- Sometimes, after a couple of plug ins and unplugs, the platform will stop detecting the station as a video output. No amount of USB-C nor HDMI reconnecting helps, the AC needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to the station
- I've managed to get the platform to detect the station as a power source only once, first time I've plugged it in
Reminder: A newer revision (E) of the same station model works seamlessly.

Does it also happen on v0.9.0-rc5? I can test on our side :-)
I confirm it still happens on v0.9.0-rc5. I see in PD traces that the laptop eitther:
- Does not establish a PD contract at all
- Correctly requests 20V, Vbus goes to 20V, but charging does not start - PD controller may be keeping input switches closed I guess
Need to check PD controller configuration again
Apparently the hardware in the dock failed, a capacitor fell off.
@wessel-novacustom So if you could test on rev C on your side that would be great, as we have a failed unit here.

Just tried with dock rev. C1 on the V540TU, Ultra 5, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Dasharo v0.9.0-rc7. Charging and video output are always working for me as it should.
Please keep in mind that video output and charging are only expected to work if the dock is connected to the USB-C port at the right side that is the closest to the USB-A port. The other one doesn't support Video Alt Mode, although charging seems to work fine on it.
Closing as caused by unrelated damage to the dock.
