How to reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Boot machine with Alderlake CPU
2. Perform Dasharo HCL report

Expected behavior Files needed to dump Audio devices configuration are present directly after booting.

Actual behavior

Files:

cat: '/sys/class/sound/card0/hw*/init_pin_configs': No such file or directory
cat: '/proc/asound/card0/codec#*': No such file or directory

are present after about a minute after booting.

I encountered a similar issue on a SKL device (Thinkcentre M900 Tiny), rmmod snd_hda_intel and modprobe snd_hda_intel was needed for the necessary sysfs attributes to appear.

This issue still occurs

Directly after booting on Alderlake, files needed to dump Audio devices configuration are not present.

I've performed two HCL dumps. One straight after booting and another after 30 minutes of the platform running, allowing for sufficient initialization time. The issue persisted, so it doesn't seem to be related to the amount of time passed between booting and generating a report

Tested on:

Mainboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K
OS: Dasharo Tool Suite v1.2.21

HCL reports

• The first raport generated straight after booting
• The second raport generated after 30min

@tym2k1 So you are reporting different (worse) kind of issue?

Are these files not present? They are present in the original report.

I checked on V560TU

cat /proc/asound/cards
--- no soundcards ---

We could be missing something in the kernel config or device tree
