Is it possible to fully clone a dworld?

Open ghost opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Morning.

It's been a while since I last used RP3D - last time it was not possible to fully clone a dworld, I'm wondering if it was added as a feature?

Thanks

As discussed here, I don't have any plan in the near future to implement this but I am curious.

What is the real use for this? Cloning the world after the initialization to have a second copy of the world? Cloning the world at some point after the simulation has began? Do you know of any physics library that supports this?

I don't know of any physics library that supports it.

Here are two uses:

  1. reinforcement/"deep q" learning - allowing "branching" of the simulation
  2. testing of turns in an STB game, such as in Frozen Synapse: https://youtu.be/lIQifwjPhzQ?t=87
