In this case it all comes down to Sketch's auto-resizing properties. After tweaking them a bit; I was able to make it work. Paddy2-symbol-layout-bug.sketch.zip

In the roadmap, I'm gonna add an option to bypass Sketch's resizing properties within a Symbol instance; so that it would render as you'd expect, like with the example Group; without the need for messing around with the resizing properties. 👍

Until then it would be good if you could document what resizing properties are necessary for this to work.

This is the only thing i still reach Auto-layout for. The stacking works within symbols there. Obviously no padding there, but it's still very useful for instances where you might have titles that span 2 lines occasionally.

I hope this can be solved. I would be happy
