There's already a smartcd that patches cd
There is already a project using the name smartcd to patch the shell cd command. It exists at https://github.com/cxreg/smartcd.
I don't really want to start a fight over naming or anything like that. I suggest that both projects provide a short statement saying something like "if you're looking for OTHER SMARTCD that does THE OTHER THING you can find it at THE OTHER SMARTCD PROJECT URL".
I have a commit bit on the other smartcd, and can update the readme accordingly.
I also need to say that this project looks really cool. I am looking forward to taking it for a spin.
Actually you're right. I thought about it initially when starting the project and knew probably this would come up someday, and actually thanks for bringing this out. Figuring out names is a brainstorming kind of thing for me, I am awful at deciding user/names. It was just that, to start building up the project (going into the technical stuff) was my main priority instead of brainstorming on the naming. Even if I am able to figure out any cool/unique name, I will need to change the whole source code. For my own personal use that won't be a problem, but for the other few users will create a breaking change for just a name change. But if the name sounds cool, I will definitely change it :)
