Hi @korenevskiy thx for your ticket. Can you please be more specific? What do you mean with bookmark, which bookmark and what is a tape?

Do you mean, when you set a breakpoint in a file, you want this to be seen in the outlinepart?

I program in PHP, I don't have breakpoints. But when I right-click on the code line number, a context menu appears: Bookmark, Breakpoint. Sorry, I use Russian Netbeans, it's hard for me to translate the word Bookmark into English. Maybe it says MARK.

My fault, yeah we have bookmarks. So you want them to be shown in the outline section, right?

@Chris2011 Excuse please. I want to know your opinion. And I also hope that you will like my idea. But if not, I will continue to live and hope. I have used MS Visual Studio before. There are very useful functions there.

  1. In the projects sidebar, you can right-click on one of the projects and select DEACTIVATE. Suppose you are working with a project and in this project there are 5 open files with current work related to this project. Well, you have 20-50 such projects. You simply accompany each project. If we assume that there are 20 projects and 5 files are open for each, then 100 tabs are open. It's hard. In Visual Studio, you can deactivate the project, and all open tabs will disappear. But then if you activate it back, then all the previous open tabs will be restored only for this project. NetBeans does not overload, the processor does NOT slow down. I wrote this proposal to the new ideas of the Apache NetBeans repository. But they closed my idea and said that there is a function of groups in the IDE. But this is not what I wrote about at all. It feels like my idea was read diagonally. At the same time, the project itself is always in the list of projects. Such a deactivated project turns into just an item without a nested tree, only one inscription.

  2. The IDE editor has an annoying problem when editing code. When I write code, the Auto Intellisense menu appears periodically. This menu is poorly made. When this menu appears and the code has already been written, but the menu is still open, you constantly need to press Esc. But this is not necessary from a practical point of view, I write code when this menu appears, and the code has already been written, I continue to work with the text by pressing the left arrow or the right arrow or pressing the Home, End button. but when the AutoIntellisense menu is open, these buttons do NOT work, I repeatedly press these buttons but there is no IDE reaction. It is quite logical that the menu closes automatically. In MS Visual Studio, this works very well.

  3. Is it possible in NetBeans to make the multi-editing mode with a multicursor enabled temporarily? For example, so that I can press the combination Alt+Shift + The arrow automatically switched to this mode, and when you release the Ctrl or Shift buttons, the mode automatically returned to the standard one. By analogy, how it works in Notepad++ and VS.

I hope you will at least just advise me how to solve something. I don't have any friends working in NetBeans at all. Maybe you will share your experience. (An Internet search yielded no results.)

Sry but this is really out of scope and has nothing todo with this ticket at all. Please ask such questions at the mailinglist or in slack https://netbeans.slack.com/. If you join slack we can talk there in private.

I can't join this channel in Slack. I downloaded the chat, installed it. But then he writes to me that my email address does not participate in this channel. Maybe you need to add me to the list of participants there? ([email protected]) Or am I doing something wrong?

korenevskiy avatar Jan 15 '22 12:01 korenevskiy

No you need to make an account there. Unfortunately this is how slack works. If you joined another slack chan this mail/password will not work. You need to create a new account for this workspace.

Chris2011 avatar Jan 15 '22 12:01 Chris2011

To register in this chat in the workspace //netbeans.slack.com/. I'm trying to register there, But in order to register there, I need to have an email on the apache domain. I have repeatedly visited the Apache website, there is no registration and mail creation. When registering in SLACK, he writes to me that the mail should be in the Apache domain. I don't know what to do. I really appreciate your help.

You should now be invited.

thank you very much for your participation. I saw how you contributed to NetBeans. I have already written how before I complained about the editor, when typing code, an automenu with variables and classes appears. The problem was that when such a menu is open, there is no way to control the cursor with the arrows on the keyboard. Every time I had to pour Esc. the menu can be opened at any time and it was unexpected to see how suddenly the cursor stops moving because of the menu. but now in the new version it is fixed. I have been using this program for many years. it seems to me that you informed the developers about this problem in the chat. For many years, they didn't even want to fix it. Thanks. A week ago, I decided to take the time and register in the chat in which you invited me. But I couldn't register, because sanctions were imposed on my country, but after that I found out that a new version of NetBeans was released, and I was very glad that there would be no more torment.
