Multi Dimensional Mathematical / Vectorised Spreadsheets
Is it possible to extend the current functionality to provide multi dimensional spreadsheet capabilities like in the following:
Quantrix DADiSP (http://www.dadisp.com/) Morphit (http://www.edge-ka.com/products/morphit) ZigZag (http://www.xanadu.com/zigzag/, http://www.nongnu.org/gzz/gi/gi.html, http://www.dgp.utoronto.ca/~mjmcguff/research/zigzag-and-mSpace/zigzag-and-mSpace.pdf, GZigZag - http://gzigzag.sourceforge.net/nutshell.html) Javelin Software (http://www.thecomputerarchive.com/archive/Software/Applications/Javelin%20Plus%20(1987).pdf, http://www.lynnbob.com/bob/articles/JavelinReview.htm) Lotus Improv Spreadsheet 2000 numberGo Resolver One Matrex (http://sourceforge.net/blog/matrex-blends-matrix-math-with-spreadsheets-strengths/, http://matrex.sourceforge.net/guideothers.shtml) SciDAV (http://scidavis.sourceforge.net/)
Yes, like those things, but not like a certain other spreadsheet :)
It's certainly possible. Could use an open source spreadsheet as a starting point.

I do not think any open source spreadsheets can do much in this area as they are Excel clones of much like Excel. Best starting point is Javelin features blending with Metrex and ZigZag and the rest.
If a open source spreadsheet is used we are starting with something broken.
Also perhaps we can try inherit things from Org Mode and similar projects also.
Also perhaps a non web distribution of documents.
