Conflict with Ultimate Member Plugin when Changing Password

Open rhezandra opened this issue 5 years ago • 3 comments

Hi,

I'd like to report an issue when using notification plugin. Basically it was doing fine until I tried to use change password feature from Ultimate Member (shortcode: [ultimatemember_account]).

I always got wrong password for my current password when trying to change it. When I deactivated Notification plugin, the password could be changed successfully.

I noticed to find the root cause of it and it could be useful for your investigation. Let's say I have 2 user accounts:

  1. administrator (pass: 'admin')
  2. user (pass: 'user') When I logged in using user account, I supposed to change the password that particular user (using [ultimatemember_account] feature), so I filled the current password with 'user' but it did not work at all. When I tried to change the current password to 'admin', it was successfully updated, but it was updating the administrator's password, not the current user account that I logged in to.

Could you please help to check it? Really appreciate for your feedback about this.

Thanks,

Rheza

Hi @rhezandra, thanks for reporting this. How does your setup look like?

Are you getting a Password Reset email from Ultimate Member and Notification at the same time or only from one of them?

I use UM and I just tested this with my own account. I have everything unticked under "Notification Settings > Default WordPress emails" and I received the reset email from UM perfectly fine, and was able to reset my password without any issues.

Yeah, potentially @rhezandra have the notification set up and used the password reset link which resets the token.
