[Request] Full-fledged WEB API

Perhaps related to #80, at Tauri we have noticed that even on external sites that are https and otherwise perfectly functional - the web api is just not available. I created a tracking issue over there so that our consumers know that it is being worked on. Happy to lend a hand figuring this out.

What do you mean by 'web api'? Is it that you cannot you some javascript apis inside webview? Or some pages cannot be loaded? I am not sure what it means in this context.
