my esp 32 Vroom will connect to wifi create its own ssid and let me open the Nerdminer settings page, all works until I put in the wifi details, ssid and p/w, both are correct but after i press save it will not connect, router is dual band 2.4ghz and 5ghz. tried erasing the esp and reflashing but the same result every time.

Just flashed from https://nerdminer.satoshistore.io/ to 3 x esp32 vroom c6 boards but those wont even show in the pc's ssid connections options, c5 does show untill I restart after setup.

Hello, the access point with settings is created only once so that you can configure everything and apply the settings. After that, the mode switches from the access point to the client, which connects to your WiFi. If you want to reset the settings and configure everything again, press the Reset button once, then press and hold the Boot button for 8-10 seconds.

Tried that, no difference, I have been erasing the chip using Flasher utility for Espressif chips which clears everything and re flashing but the ssid I have been using is definitely correct, also tried a wifi extender to see if I could get anywhere with that, no difference, tried esp c5 and esp c6 boards, flashes ok and the c5 creates a wifi network to enter credentials, c6 board I can flash but does not create a network, after entering the ssid and p/w all I get is a flashing blue light on the board, even when the board is next to the router

It seems that you are flashing the wrong firmware because, after flashing, only one red indicator should be lit on the board.

I'll tell you once again, you probably didn't understand: the access point is created only once after the firmware. When you configure the device and click Save, the access point will no longer be available—the device will switch to a different mode!!!!

If you need to reconfigure the device and restore the access point, press the Reset button briefly once, then press and hold the Boot button for about 10 seconds. Wait a little, and the device will be ready to be configured again

this is what I use to flash the firmware (in photo) then I connect and the blue led goes solid then on my pc I enter 192.168.4.1, I then I enter the ssid and p/w which is correct, enter the btc address, click save and then wait a few seconds, unplug the esp and plug back in,a solid red and an endless blue flashing led is all that appears, can no longer use the ip to log in and nothing appears on ip scanner. tried more than one esp 32 vroom boards when I try to reflash it does but no separate wifi network appears so I use espressif to erase everything, re flash using the same flasher what is in the picture and then I can log in and start over but the same thing happens

Uefi1 avatar Jan 25 '25 03:01 Uefi1

what's that supposed to mean?

stefi01 avatar Jan 25 '25 03:01 stefi01

I had the same thing happen with esp32, worked fine with the LILYGO T-Display S3.

Got it working, no need for that other person to be rude, probably an entitled Karen, supposed to be open source and help each other, I got it working, the files here never worked, got a single file from Youtube and that does work and yes there IS a blue light as well as red, I followed this guide and worked first time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGPa_K47aL0 use the file in the description of the video., same method as here, different file, even whilst uploading the files from here a warning popped up saying not valid files.

@stefi I have came across that user Uefi1 before nasty bit of work, a low life internet troll that likes to insult others, ignore that garbage, anyway, I am glad you got it working in the end.

To be fair, you are flashing your device with the wrong code. That's why Uefi1 called you an idiot. You were told twice that you need to select the correct device to be flashed yet you flashed ESP32C5 and C6 with ESP32-Wroom firmware. That's why it didn't work. Different internal fuses were set and the device couldn't function properly
