Feature Request: Add Ignore Device capability like other Integrations

Open jksmurf opened this issue 5 months ago • 4 comments

I have two Smart Gateways, and while I use the XiaomiGateway3 integration for most devices in the Mii App, some devices just do not work well with the integration (miii Door and Windows Sensor 2 is one of these), so I use Xiaomi BLE (which works very well with these, with ESP32 devices).

As described here deleting devices stay deleted and do not come back IF they are first deleted from the Mii App.

If however they stay in the Mii App, then they will always come back after deleting them from HA. I want them to say in the App due to the use of Xiaomi BLE for a few speciifc devices.

Unlike many other integratuions, unfortunately XiaomiGateway3 does not seem to have an ignore device option. It seems to just assume you want ALL the devices that are in your Mii account, in HA.

I can disable or say not visible to all the devices entities (for each device one by one) which effectively disables the device showing up, but that seems like a kludge solutuon (and is a lot of disabling).

Am I missing something here?

You can disable the device in the Home Assistant. This is a standard feature of the Home Assistant.

But AFAIK you can only do this by disabling the entities of the device. The (disabled) device still all appear in the Xiaomi Gateway 3 integration (as well as the Xiaomi BLE one).

The device also has this setting.

The device also has this setting.

But would I be correct in saying this is only after the devices are installed (there is no ignore BEFORE the install, which is the request). Once they are installed, they are always there in the integration being reported as a device, just a disabled one.

Closing as not really a show-stopper, more a nice to have.
