Same problem with 8.9.0 and @roman-spiridonov's workaround saved the day. Like @benavern I'm curious why the package nvm installs is different from the one in the official repo.

@erSitzt PR seems great to me. Guessing the maintainers are no longer at @pagerinc, so updating this might be a bit more complicated than we'd hope.

@mathiu but that means loading `wp-color-picker` even when it's not going to be used. If every other plugin behaved that way, you'd quickly end up with a bloated WordPress installation....
