Hi Thanks for doing this 'review' of cl-vcr. I'm the author of it, and yes, it's kinda known that it doesn't work properly. At the time I created it, I wanted to write a simple proof of concept of "could I leverage the awesome fare-memoization library for something like vcr"? but no intentions to share it anywhere besides my repl.

The reason why it's not in quicklisp is because it's buggy and not tested. I'm going to put a big banner there saying it's buggy and create an issue pointing to this post.

PRs are welcome there, and if I have some time I might try to give it a shot myself.

@kidd A library of this kind was missing in the ecosystem, so good try.

Now there is also https://github.com/tsikov/vcr (the author of which also contributed to cl-vcr), and maybe is it more advanced? A review in the blog would be great.
