You should look into open source ecology

They started around 10 years ago and are still chugging along. They have similar projects, some of the major ones are vehicle based. You should check them out for inspiration or collaboration.

I haven't been able too work on this cause I don't have money or time...

BUT I have been playing around with one of the most suckless vehicles possible, EUC's.
